HURRICANE SCAMS

After every disaster, scammers come out to take your money. Now websites that claim to be legitimate Hurricane Gustav relief organizations have been created. These websites ask people to donate money by giving your financial information.

They will have official looking URL’S for you to click on like RedCrossrelief.org. If you click on the supplied link some scammer has your money and financial information. If you want to make a donation through the Red Cross or another disaster relief organization, type in the URL yourself, like RedCross.org. Never just click on a link supplied. Phone, get their URL Address, and type it in yourself. Better still if you can get to their office, make your donation there.

VIRUSES, TROJANS

While on the subject of disasters scammers send out e-mails with pictures attached.

Never open attachments these often contain viruses, which spy on your computer or can get complete access to your PC. Unless you know who is sending the attachment and you are expecting it don’t open it till you can check it is your friend who is sending it.

LIGHTSIDE

Wives will outsmart you every time. I told my wife “50 years ago we had a cheap suite, no car, a black and white TV, but I got to sleep every night with a hot 23 year old gal. Now I have a million dollar home, a $80,000.00 car, plasma screen TV, but I am sleeping with a 65 year old woman”.

My wife is a very reasonable woman. She told me to go out and find a 23 year old hot gal and she would make sure that I once again would be living in a cheap suite, no car, sleep on a sofa bed, and watch the news on a 10 inch black and white TV.

THE USES OF FOOD

To build new tissues (muscle-tissue, bone tissue, and nerve tissue, to repair those issues that are worn out.

To furnish the body with energy for work and play. (Heat is a form of energy).

To regulate the body processes; to keep the body in good working order.

To promote the growth and to keep the body healthy.

BASE FORMING, ACID-FORMING FOODS.

Besides grouping our foods under the headings of six foodstuffs, we classify them as base forming and acid forming. These terms do not refer to the taste of food but rather to the use of foods in the body. Foods are acid-forming or base forming according to the ash that is left after they are digested and utilized by the body. The body needs both types of foods so that one counteracts the other, preserving neutrality that is essential for health.

Base-forming foods are milk, milk-products, fruits, and vegetables, except prunes, plums, cranberries and corn.
Acid-forming foods are meat, fish, egg, grains, prunes, plums, cranberries, and corn.

VEGAN

Vegan: A person that chooses a lifestyle that aims to eliminate the use of products obtained from animals for food, clothing or any other reason. This means that they don’t eat any meat, fish, dairy products or eggs. They also avoid products that are tested on animals and do not wear fur, wool or leather.

A vegan’s diet includes foods such as: beans, lentils, nuts, seeds, soya products (for protein), whole grains, vegetables, fruits and healthy oils.

People choose to become vegan for various reasons, the most popular include

-Ethical views concerning animal rights
-Concern for the environment

-To improve personal health

VEGGIE BURGERS

You want to try veggie burgers; they are great imitations of the real thing. Many companies now make them in a variety of tastes and styles. Some mimic meat; others are intentionally grain like. All are lower in calories and fat than a conventional burger and higher in fibre. Many have a respectable amount of protein, too. Their weakness is sodium: The rated burgers have 250 to 500 milligrams. (The recommended daily limit is 2,300 milligrams)

BUGER VEGGIE, Calories 110, Fat (4g), Protein (10g), Sodium 360(mg).

BEEF VEGGIE, Calories 177, Protein 17(g), Fat 11(g), Sodium 360.

WATER

A variety of emergency situations, from floods to earthquakes to toxic spills, could contaminate the local water supply and leave you without access to water. As a result, it’s important to know how to safely store and treat water of uncertain purity during an emergency.

The best way to treat water is often a combination of methods, as boiling and disinfection will kill most microorganisms but only distillation will remove other contaminants. Boiling is the safest method of treating water. Keep water at a boil for 10 minutes for maximum effectiveness.

Disinfection with regular household liquid bleach can also kill microorganisms. Use only liquid bleach that contains 5.25 percent sodium hypochlorite as the active ingredient. DO NOT USE scented bleaches, colour-safe bleaches or bleaches with added cleaners.

Add one to two drops of bleach per litre of clear water. Stir and let stand for 30 minutes. If the water does not have a slight bleach odour, repeat the dosage and let stand another 15 minutes.

Distillation involves boiling water and then collecting the vapour that condenses back to water.

RECALL ALERTS

Have you unsafe products in your home? Check out items that have been recalled by manufactures in cooperation with U.S.Consumers Products Safety Commission. You can check by phone: 800-638-2772, or visit www.cpsc.gov

RESPONSIBLE DRINKING

If you have teenagers, or in fact any adult, impress on them the
risks of driving while intoxicated. Statistics demonstrate drunk
drivers cause many fatal road accidents.

It should be known that like any other drug, addiction is a
potential hazard. Excess of alcohol will affect organs such as the brain, heart, and liver.

NON- ALCOHOLIC DRINKS

ORGEAT FIZZ

1 ½ ounces orgeat syrup

½ ounce limejuice

Club Soda

Shake orgeat and lime juice with ice cubes. Strain into fizz

Glass. Add ice cubes. Add soda to glass. Serve with straws.

TEA PUNCH

3 cups brewed strong black tea

1 quart orange juice

1-cup lime or lemon juice

2 cups raspberry syrup

1 cup crushed pineapple

bar sugar to taste

2 quarts club soda

Pour all ingredients except soda over a large block of ice in a punch bowl. Stir well. Let it chill. At serving time, add chilled soda.

It important to really get this profoundly. The aim of good food is to give people the opportunity to profoundly realise the great health potential and healing power of nutrition. Through this, they can educate themselves and make informed choices on matters regarding health. In effect, good food provides vital life saving information. It shows how the major life-threatening diseases such as, heart disease, stroke, cancer, diabetes and many other illnesses can be prevented or reversed using nutrition. Yes, as incredible as this may seem to some, whether it is through a strict dietary regimen called ‘metabolic nutritional therapy’, or just by simply eating the appropriate food, the results have been amazing. Good food shows how you can use these nutrition secrets for vitality and invariably slowing down the ageing process.

-All the necessary scientific evidence and case testimonies can be found in support of this effectiveness of nutrition.

This is something that should not be missed. It is indeed a massive opportunity to address the most important thing in your life: The only thing worth living for, your freedom and in this particular case, it comes in the wave shape and form of your health through nutrition.

Why has the role of nutrition been so greatly underestimated?

Some readers may be thinking to themselves: If nutrition was so good, why haven’t I heard about it?

-The answer is this. These are the circumstances why it has not made it to mainstream: The pharmaceutical companies and the government (who rake in huge revenues from the former) don’t want you know that there are cheap, alternative and natural, non-toxic methods towards the prevention of illness. If they allowed the people in the masses to be let in on this well-kept secret, then they would lose out on their profit machine.

Pharmaceuticals do not cure people. They only treat the symptoms. Take for example, a person suffering from a hangover the morning after. Although his parrots eat em’ all provides temporary pain relief, the problem related, the hangover, persists, because the underlying root cause is still there.

In many circumstances, as long as individuals are not cured, then they could be paying for treatment for the rest of their lives… Hence the saying

‘A patient cured to a pharmaceutical company is a patient lost.’

Contained in good food are leads to many solutions: How to cure many ailments with nutrition. Take some of these amazing examples, in good food, it points to where there have been proven solutions with all the convincing documentary evidence to support that diseases like cardiovascular disease, cancer and diabetes have been reversed and cured using different types of nutritional therapy. The success rate has been very high.

Some disturbing background

There is much deception on this planet. Much of it is being run and overseen by a few select handfuls of elite individuals. It is clear to me, and many others growing in numbers, that the motive of this deception is for power, profit and ultimately, control over the masses. It works on the principle that the masses, the people at large, are kept in the dark over the elite’s deception through ignorance, misinformation, disinformation, cover-ups and downright lies: Generally, the people at large blindly accept the words of authorities. The elite’s propaganda machine, the paid off media, greatly contribute towards the deception or theatre of illusion. This occurs in many things. Business, banking, finance, commerce, politics, the military, education, religion… and there is no better example of this deception than in the way in which the medical pharmaceutical establishment and food industry is run.

Some may have a hard time in accepting this. Well, that’s okay, but rather than dismiss it, I ask you to consider looking into the ways in which the deception works and I’ll bet you’ll come to the same conclusions as me.

Let’s look at some general underlying principles. Take the case of the latter two I mentioned above. The medical / pharmaceutical establishment and the food industry.

The way the deception works

As I have said before, any solutions of a nutritional kind is carefully kept under wraps by the pharmaceutical companies and the government, who heavily sponsor the media and pay them off not to publicise. Over the years, dedicated and brilliant people of a humanitarian nature who have come up with nutritional methods for cures of illnesses have been deliberately ignored, quashed or even ridiculed. Even when they had achievesd genuinely successful methodologies.

In other words, the pharmaceutical companies and their influence over the medical establishment, together with the government has become the order of the day. This, indeed, quite simply is a case of putting profits before the welfare concern of the people, which of course, is not acceptable. It is indeed an example of how we are not living in a democracy.

And that’s not all…

-This corporate soulless greed machine method of control and suppression is also demonstrated in the food industry. A a matter of fact, both pharmaceuticals and food products undergo the same pattern when it comes to making decisions over what should go on to the market. It goes like this.

Approval bodies such as the FDA (The Food and Drug administration), the United States set up, comprise a group of individuals who decide what food and drugs are safe to go on the market. Many of these individuals have ties with the very pharmaceutical or food companies they are judging! So any real decision-making made from these people will be most likely in favour of the pharmaceutical or food companies.

Evidence has been shown time and time again that these individuals have been biased. It has also been shown that some of those who were not tied to companies during the time of the decision-making were later on. For example, some individuals who had been on the FDA later became appointed on the board of directors of the pharmaceutical companies.

-This has introduced a level of corruption that has allowed many harmful foods and drugs to go on the market.

Well-documented cases where there have been health-damaging side effects from harmful food and drugs have been given little or no publicity.

Junk food and potentially harmful foods have found their way on to the shelves of supermarkets, care of slick advertising and marketing. There is much trickery and deception involved in this.

Good food can give much information on the subject of junk food.

The main thing for now is to get smart and realise there is a game going on played by the people mentioned in the point who obviously don’t really care about your health. Good food will allow you to profoundly realise that the above authorities have a power and political game going on and don’t have your best health interests at heart: Knowing what to look for and how to distinguish good from bad nutrition is the key.

Food as a healer

”Let your food be your medicine and your medicine be your food.”

-Hippocrates 460BC377 BC Greek physician

The Top 8 Food and Food Processors Tips

Food information isn’t always reliable when you search on the web, as too many people are trying to sell you something instead of actual providing useful resources you can use.

Below are 8 tips about food and food processors that I hope you find helpful.

We’ve spent ages looking for the most accurate food information to give you, and this is what we’ve got…

Tip #1

We are too busy for our kitchens these days. Nevertheless. We want the same quality and taste of food as if we had all the day for cooking. And every problem comes with a solution. So, have come the Food Processors to aid you in cooking and making your experience in the kitchen not so cumbersome and very satisfying.

Tip #2

These days food processors have so many different attachments that you don’t even need to buy the most expensive one to get all the benefits. The one thing that you do need to decide on is the size of the processor you want to purchase.

Tip #3

A food processor and other home appliances that make chopping, grinding and mixing faster are a boon to a contemporary household. Although they are predominantly found in western kitchens; the trend is mushrooming in the eastern parts as well. The ingenuity of the food processor however lies in its user friendly mechanism and affordability.

Tip #4

If you have decided to buy a food processor for yourself or for giving away as a gift then it’s a nice thing to buy the best one in the market. It is necessary understand first that, “best” is a relative term and changes from person to person.

Tip #5

Modern food processors are made in 3 sizes. These are full, compact, and mini. Although the size varies, the basic operation is the same. Each has a motor, a bowl with a fitted lid, a tube to feed items, and some attachments. Different size bowls may be included with some models that fit onto the same base.

Tip #6

A food processor is a kitchen appliance that can perform a number of functions, including blending, shredding, grinding and chopping. This saves the user a considerable amount of time compared to carrying out these tasks by hand. Food processors come in two types – electric (motor driven) models, and manual devices.

Tip #7

Food Processors are complex pieces of technology that have been so ingeniously created for the comfort of the modern day cook. They come with numerous attachments to perform a range of food processing tasks. For example research has shown that a small kitchens’ food processor performs more than 22 functions. In order to cater to the multifarious cuisine of a diverse group of people and make their cooking seem like a work of art, the modern food processor has to perform more tasks than any demanding cook could possibly dream of.

Tip #8

Another thing that you may want to keep in mind when selecting your food processor is the amount of power it has. Any one you find should have sufficient power to perform routine tasks but if you need it for more demanding food processing there are professional models that have over 600 watts of power, which should get the job done.

There are many articles online about food, and often food processors.

I hope that you found these 8 tips useful, as it was very interesting digging out accurate information about food – especially as there is often a lot of low quality stuff out there!

Things You Should Know About Food and Food Processors

Accurate food information is not always easy to find on the Internet.

I struggled to find a reliable source myself, so I decided to collate some tips for you, along with other relevant food processors information.

I hope that you find them both useful and interesting. I certainly found it fun trying to track all that food research down!

Tip #1

Anyway, as summer begins, many of us will be eating cool salads and not heating up the kitchen by cooking at the stove. You’ll probably be grilling out more often, too. There are so many side dishes that can be made quickly to go with whatever you are grilling. Using a food processor makes very quick work out of making refreshing cole slaws–if you hate using a hand shredder and shredding your knuckles. With a food processor you can choose to shred, dice or slice your cabbage. The different textures give a different flavor to your salad.

Tip #2

Because it can quickly and easily chop, slice, shred, grind and puree almost any food, it is one of the more flexible kitchen appliances available. Additionally, some of the models aid in juicing, beating batter, kneading dough, and grinding meats.

Tip #3

These devices facilitate various tasks in the process of preparation of food. Although, these are mainly electric motor driven appliances but there are some manual as well. These hi-tech equipments are similar to a blender in many ways. But there are some differences, like processors have swappable blades and discs in place of fixed blades. Besides, their bowls are wider and shorter which make it more suitable for the solid and semi-solid food materials.

Tip #4

If you have decided to buy a food processor for yourself or for giving away as a gift then reading consumer reports or commonly known as customer reviews is a great way to pick up the right machine.

Tip #5

Food Processors are fantastic inventions and can be a great deal of help to any home cook. When you decide to invest in a food processor be sure that you are actually going to use it. There are plenty of people with kitchen cabinets brimming with appliances that seemed practical at the time of purchase but are now nothing more than expensive dust collectors.

Tip #6

One way of achieving this is by using a food processor. A food processor can make a gourmet cook out of almost anyone, since it does all the work for you. My favorite, is the Cuisinart. The reason being that it has the power to do heavy, sticky bread or cookie doughs, large batches of vegetables–like carrot sticks, cucumber slices, shredded cabbages and shredded parmesan cheese or cheddar cheese. It’s always so much easier to make tacos or nachos if you have the cheeses ready. Or pizzas. Having all the veggie prep done and at your finger tips makes putting together your favorite recipes a breeze. And you’ll be out of the kitchen faster. No more scraped knuckles for you! No more tears, as you chop your onions in seconds in the food processor.

Tip #7

We all have many small appliances in our kitchens. Nearly every kitchen counter has a coffee maker and a toaster sitting on it. Included in this line up should be a great food processor. Preferably a Cuisinart. Cuisinart has the power to process and knead heavy bread dough and cookie doughs. Any of your favorite recipes can be easily adapted to a food processor. You can easily cut your food preparation time down a lot. Sometimes, the food prep time is what keeps a lot of us from cooking.

Hope you found these 7 tips useful, as it’s not always easy to track accurate information down!

The Internet is full of information about food, but it’s not always easy to find stuff that’s actually useful – especially where food processors is concerned. I hope that these tips have been.

Swine flu viruses do not normally infect humans, however, human infections with swine flu do occur, and cases of human-to-human spread of swine flu viruses has been documented. First started in Mexcio, has spread to the USA and canada. For up –to-date information, contact: www.cdc.gov/swineflu LIGHTSIDE
A young man on his first day on the job as a waiter in a truck
stop café, has a large trucker sit down at the counter and order,
“ I will have 3 flat tires and a couple of headlights”.

Bewildered he goes to the kitchen and tells the cook, “I don’t
know what to do, this guy’s in the wrong place, look at what he
ordered!”

The cook replies, “ he wants3 pancakes and 2 eggs sunny side up”.

The waiter takes a bowl of beans to the trucker. He looks at it
and growls, “What’s this? I didn’t order this!”

The waiter tells him, “The cook says that while you’re waiting
for your parts you might as well gas up!’ MORE FOOD INFORMATION When I seen that food products had to be listed where they are from felt great, about time. But I find this is not what I thought it is. Picked up a package of frozen salmon. In big letters in the front it stated, WILD PACIFIC COAST CANADA SALMON. When I got home and showed my wife, making note of the new packaging regulation, she turned the package over and in small print on the label was, “product of China”. I can’t figure this out. Are the fish tagged now, and they took a long swim from the Pacific Coast of Canada and were caught in china? Or did they catch a ride on a ship somehow? Can someone enlighten me please? Or are packaging laws misleading? Dates on canned and dried food is usually an indication of quality rather than safety; it’s there to tell you when flavour, texture or nutrition value begins to decrease. Food companies are not required to date their non-perishable products. When checking food, use your eyes, nose and common sense. If the container is damaged or rusty, throw it out. Do not mess around with expiration dates on refrigerated items. High-acid canned foods such as tomatoes, grapefruit and pineapple can be stored up to 18 months. The can linings might discolour, but as long as the can is in good shape, it’s probably safe to eat. Low-acid canned foods (meat, poultry, fish and most vegetables) will keep two to five years, as long as the can is in a cool, clean, dry place WARNING BACTERIA
Bacteria may be present on products when you purchase them. Raw meat, poultry, seafood, and eggs are not sterile. Neither is fresh produce such as lettuce, tomatoes, sprouts, and melons.

Foods, including safely cooked, ready-to-eat foods, can become cross contaminated with bacteria transferred from raw products, meat juices or other contaminated products, or from food handlers with poor personal hygiene.

Botulism, a life-threatening illness caused by the bacteria Clostridium outline, were reported in the United States. Frozen, fully cooked products were suspected of causing these illnesses. The Food Safety and Inspection Service advises all consumers to handle frozen, fully-cooked products in accordance with these food safety recommendations.

Before buying frozen, fully cooked products carefully inspect the container or package. If the package is punctured, torn, partially opened, or damaged in any other way that might expose the contents to the outside environment, do NOT purchase the product.
Do not purchase frozen products that appear to have thawed and refrozen. Reject all swollen or gassy containers or spoiled foods.

Buy food from reputable dealers, with a known record of safe handling. Buy frozen products only if they are frozen solid and only if stored in the freezer case. Observe any use-by or sell-by dates on the package.

When you open the container, inspect the product. Do not use products that are discoloured, mouldy, or have an off odour. Do not use products that spurt liquid or foam when the container is opened. Do not taste the product to determine if it is safe.
Follow the preparation instructions on the product label.
Handling Possibly Contaminated Products Report any suspect commercial food products to your local health department.

If a suspect food is opened in your kitchen, thoroughly scrub the can opener or other utensils, containers, counters, etc., that might have contacted the food or its container. Discard any sponges or cloths used in the cleanup. Wash your hands thoroughly. Promptly launder any clothing that might have been splattered upon.

Botulism is a rare but serious paralytic illness caused by a nerve toxin. Symptoms of botulism include double vision, blurred vision, drooping eyelids, slurred speech, difficulty swallowing, dry mouth, and muscle weakness. The illness can cause paralysis, respiratory failure and death. Symptoms usually occur from 18 to 36 hours after eating contaminated food. Anyone concerned about an illness should contact a physician. BAR MIXES

If you have teenagers, or in fact any adult, impress on them the risks of driving while intoxicated. Statistics demonstrate drunk drivers cause many fatal road accidents.

It should be known that like any other drug, addiction is a potential hazard. Excess of alcohol will affect organs such as the brain, heart, and liver. Fresh Fruit Punch
8 ounces apiece of orange juice, pineapple juice, and grapefruit
juice.
1 bottle ginger ale. Sugar to taste.
Combine the juices with the sugar. Stir until the sugar is
dissolved and refrigerate. Add the ginger ale plus chunks of ice before serving.
ACAPULCO GOLD
3 ounces pineapple juice.
1-ounce concentrated grapefruit (undiluted) juice.
1-ounce coconut cream.
1-ounce fresh cream.
Shake with a large scoop of shaved ice, and serve in tall glass. Disclaimer: The Author of this article is not responsible for accuracy or completeness nor shall he be held liable for any damage or loss arising out of or in any way related to the information or utilization of it. You have permission to copy any of my articles providing each is complete, and Author Article Source Box is included.

Food Processors and Food. 9 More Useful Tips

Accurate food information is not always easy to find on the Internet.

I struggled to find a reliable source myself, so I decided to collate some tips for you, along with other relevant food processors information.

I hope that you find them both useful and interesting. I certainly found it fun trying to track all that food research down!

Tip #1

A food processor and other home appliances that make chopping, grinding and mixing faster are a boon to a contemporary household. Although they are predominantly found in western kitchens; the trend is mushrooming in the eastern parts as well. The ingenuity of the food processor however lies in its user friendly mechanism and affordability.

Tip #2

These devices facilitate various tasks in the process of preparation of food. Although, these are mainly electric motor driven appliances but there are some manual as well. These hi-tech equipments are similar to a blender in many ways. But there are some differences, like processors have swappable blades and discs in place of fixed blades. Besides, their bowls are wider and shorter which make it more suitable for the solid and semi-solid food materials.

Tip #3

Because it can quickly and easily chop, slice, shred, grind and puree almost any food, it is one of the more flexible kitchen appliances available. Additionally, some of the models aid in juicing, beating batter, kneading dough, and grinding meats.

Tip #4

A food processor makes the work that goes in preparing to cook dishes, simpler, be it for the main course, or dessert or even soup. Food processors come with different attachments as well, which make it useful for other things as well like kneading the dough, making juices, soups etc. They also save lot of time and energy used in cutting, chopping, slicing etc of fruits, vegetables etc.

Tip #5

Food processors and mixers have evolved considerably in the past decade to become more versatile and more powerful, meaning they can satisfy a growing number of food preparation tasks in greater capacities.

Tip #6

For those of us that are great food lovers, a food processor makes our prep work in the kitchen so easy. My personal preference for a food processor is a Cuisinart, because of the superior performance. If you are not familiar with this brand, then do yourself a favor and check it out.

Tip #7

While buying a food processor, there are certain things that should be considered. The first thing is the capacity of the processor. This should be decided, depending upon the number of people that cooking is to be done for, so as to save time and serve the purpose of buying a processor. Several capacities are available in the market for processors, with the smallest one coming to about 1.4L and increasing to 3L in capacity. It is better to have an idea of the size, as otherwise it might be a waste of money to buy a bigger one, or time would be consumed more, in case a smaller one is purchased

Tip #8

Be sure to size your new food processor to the task. If you overwork the processor by constantly pushing its capacity, you could shorten its lifespan and effectiveness. Manufacturers usually list this information for each model. Some units have more than one bowl size, allowing you to change the capacity according to what you are processing. This is especially useful if you have medium and small size processing tasks.

Tip #9

Food Processors generally come equipped with various blades. These include dough blade which is used to knead dough for bread and pizzas, an egg whip which is used to beat egg, an julienne disc which is used to cut food into long, thin matchsticks, a french fry disc which is used to yield larger and fatter pieces, a citrus juicer and a non citrus juicer. One such device in home can replace numerous others like blenders, juicers, mixers etc. These gadgets are great inventions and can prove to be of great help to any person working in the kitchen.

Hope you found these 9 tips useful, as it’s not always easy to track accurate information down!

The Internet is full of information about food, but it’s not always easy to find stuff that’s actually useful – especially where food processors is concerned. I hope that these tips have been.
