When we commit a crime

It must be accepted that this man cannot save himself and there are chances that he shall be committing crimes and it is also possible that he shall be able to conceal that fact from others. This concealment could be easy or it may be difficult, but in both the cases, we come under tension, pressure and stresses. We do not know when that secret shall be open and we shall be before the public and when the police shall hear it, they shall be after us to arrest us, to torture us to bring out the truth and to collect all evidence against us so that they could be successful in establishing the case against us. And we shall be sent to jail for some term and if the crime is grave like one of murder, we could be sentenced to death.

And it is a tragedy with all the people of the world that they are not pure and simple. everyone of us has committed so many crimes, so many sins and so many misconducts and it is also an accepted fact that we are not disclosing all those facts of our life. The man is so cunning and clever that when he commits a crime, a sin or a misconduct, he starts arranging all the methods through which he shall be able to conceal those facts from other and in most the cases he is concealing the same. And he is being counted amongst the gentlemen of the area. The people who could not conceal those crimes, sins and misconducts are before the public, before the authorities, before the society and before the state and then they are facing a sorry figure all around and if they are caught, they are tried by the courts and sentenced to some jail term.

So all of us are under tension, stresses and pressures because none of us is clean. The man on earth has learnt to live with pressures, tensions and stresses and that is the reason he is not enjoying this life. His face is telling the whole story to us and the man is sad and frustrated. This life does not remain a place for enjoyment because the man is not free. So it is only one remedy with us that we should lower down the number of crimes, sins and misconducts in our stock and we must be ready to do more good works so that we could feel easy and free from stresses and tensions. this is the only solution of our problems.

When it comes to hidden object games, Masters of Mystery – Crime of Fashion is as unique as they come. Masters of Mystery – Crime of Fashion delves into the seedy world of crime scene investigation. In order to solve the high fashion homicide, you are required to find hidden tools, objects, and clues using a variety of hidden game techniques. To uncover the truth and find the murderer, you play the role of investigator, Miss Chase.

Miss Chase starts her new position like most people start a new job. Her cranky and uptight boss, Sergeant Cross, shows Miss Chase to her new office. The game begins by having Miss Chase clean up her office. In the process she has to find hidden objects like ammo, tape, a magnifying glass, and more.

This is where the game takes an interesting twist. Some of the objects you are required to find are added to your inventory. Once in the inventory, you are allowed to use the item to help you find more items. Personally, I like this feature because it makes Masters of Mystery – Crime of Fashion different from other hidden object games.

At different points in the game, you are thrown into a mini-game. One of the mini-games requires you to unscramble cut-out letters to reveal a hidden phrase. It is sort of like hangman without the penalties. It is not difficult, especially if you know a little about code breaking. Another one of the mini-games has you match fingerprints. Matching doesn’t sound hard, but you are given very little time to match the print. With fast searching and a good eye for matching fingerprints, you should be able to finish this mini-game in the extremely short time allotted.

Making the hidden object game even more unique, some hidden items like fingerprints can’t be found without the use of discovered items. Before you can locate fingerprints, you must find the dust brush. Then you can go to your inventory to use the dust brush on different areas. Sound easy? Not really, because now you have to guess where the fingerprints can be found. This adds a new challenge because you can’t even begin to find hidden items until you found the correct tool. Add the time limit and you just might find yourself in a race against the clock.

If you are into crime scene investigation, then this is the game for you. It has a realistic feel. Masters of Mystery – Crime of Fashion has a well developed storyline that keeps you up-to-date. The game does give you an option to skip the dialogue if you don’t want to follow along. I would suggest reading the dialogue as it lets you know why you are going back to the yacht or the crime lab.

Masters of Mystery – Crime of Fashion can be found at Marco Polo Games. At Marco Polo games you can find many hidden object games. There you can download games for a free trial or buy the game if you like it.

Violence and Crime Against Women Must Stop!

In 1994, Legislation was passed which paved the way for the Violence Against Women Act. This Legislation provided $1.6 billion to enhance investigation and prosecution of the violent crimes perpetrated against women. However, the heinous crimes against women continue to increase each year. Preliminary results for the first half of 2006 revealed that there was a 3.7 percent increase in all violent crimes compared to the first half of 2005.

Here are some appalling statistics in the U.S. Every three minutes a woman is attacked in the United States. Women are 10 times more likely than men to be victimized by an intimate partner. Conservative estimates indicate that two to four million women of all races and classes are battered each year. An estimated 572,000 assaults were by intimate partners. Every day four women die in this country as a result of domestic violence, which approximates 1,400 women a year according to the FBI. Every year approximately 132,000 women report that they have been victims of rape or attempted rape, and more than half of them knew their attackers. It’s estimated that two to six times that many women are raped, but do not report it. Every year approximately 1.2 million women report being forcibly raped by their current or former male partner. Approximately 17 percent of pregnant women report being battered. The results of the battering include miscarriages, stillbirths and a two to four times greater likelihood of the baby having a low birth weight.

These outrageous acts of violence have got to stop. One answer is to empower women with prevention. Criminals prey on women because they are easy targets. Criminals look for weaknesses in women and take advantage of the situation. Don’t make yourself an easy target. There are a number of self-defense practices and non-lethal, self-defense products available that can be used to help deter or fight off an assailant. Most of the tips are common sense and the products are easy to use.

Biologically women have less strength than most men. Empowering women with the knowledge of safety practices and non-lethal, self-defense products can lessen the chance of them being a target of a crime and becoming a victim.

We are told to avoid walking or jogging alone. Use the buddy system. Don’t walk to your car by yourself when it is dark outside. Be attentive to our surroundings. The list goes on and on.

Carrying a non-lethal, self-defense product such as pepper spray, a stun gun, or a personal alarm is very effective in deterring an assailant and preventing the unthinkable. These types of products can be purchased at a web site such as http://womenonguard.com/.

The popularity of pepper sprays has grown tremendously over the past couple of years due to the increase in violent crimes. It is estimated that more than 15,000,000 Americans carry a personal defense spray.

Pepper spray is very effective on an assailant. When sprayed into the eyes and face, the skin, eyes and mucous membranes of the throat become irritated. The assailant may experience coughing and choking and there may be a small increase in blood pressure, heart rate and ventilation. It is very uncomfortable and there is pain associated with it. Temporary incapacitation is the final result, mostly due to not being able to see. Assailants are preoccupied with the blinding and painful experience to even attempt to do anything violent to you. When properly contaminated with pepper spray, an attacker will not be able to open their eyes for at least 10 minutes to an hour, allowing you plenty of time to escape safely.

You should always take caution when using pepper spray. It may not be as effective on attackers with some form of psychosis, if they are using drugs, or if they are intoxicated.

Stun guns are also very effective in immobilizing an assailant. A stun gun is an electrical self-defense device that uses high voltage to stop an attacker by keying into the nervous system. Touching a person with the prongs on the stun gun quickly immobilizes the attacker. It dumps its energy into the muscles at a high pulse frequency that makes the muscles work very rapidly, but not efficiently. This rapid work cycle depletes blood sugar by converting it to lactic acid all in just seconds. The resulting energy loss makes it difficult to move and function. At the same time, the tiny neurological impulses that travel throughout the body to direct muscle movement are interrupted. This causes disorientation and loss of balance and leaves the attacker in a passive and confused condition for several minutes. Because the amperage is very low there is no significant effect on the heart and other organs and no serious or permanent injury is inflicted.

Although the 1994 Violence Against Women Act has indeed enhanced investigation and prosecution of assailants committing crimes against women, statistics reveal a continued increase in violent crime each year. The empowerment of women is essential in combating these heinous crimes. Lets help protect all women by sharing information and knowledge of safety practices. Implement these safety practices and carry a non-lethal, self-defense product such as pepper spray or a personal alarm. If we work together we can help prevent the unthinkable.

Susan Eaton is co-owner of a new website called WomenOnGuard.com. She is determined to empower women against violent crime and focuses on non-lethal self-defense products as a primary source for women to protect themselves, especially since women are usually weaker than their attachers. Susan also has a Bachelors Degree in Finance from Georgia State University.

“Crime” is a word that invokes both fear and acceptance in society. Statistically your chances of becoming a victim of crime in any given year are actually pretty low. I’m sure this is a great comfort to anyone who has been victimized or knows someone who has been. On the surface many crimes seem random and senseless, but when we take a look at the factors that make up a crime we see a pattern emerge. In order for a crime to occur there are three factors that must be present. They are; Motive, Opportunity and a Victim.

Each of these factors plays an important role in how and why crimes occur. Two of these factors are within your control to influence. Motive is what drives the criminal to commit the crime. Motives are as individual as the criminal and beyond your ability to effectively control. Some common themes are drugs, money, sex, violence, power, domination etc. That doesn’t mean you shouldn’t attempt to understand some of the social issues surrounding the psychology of crime. It just means that knowing your attacker is a crack addict with an addiction to feed is the last thing you are worrying about when he is stealing your purse at knifepoint.

Opportunity and access are necessary for the criminal to commit an offence. Crime is like a business. To succeed it must have timing, location, read the market correctly and have access to potential customers. Having a good foundation in Personal Safety removes much of the potential for criminals to have access to you. Both timing and location are within your realm of control. Ensure that you always maintain good Situational Awareness. Being able to spot, assess and proactively respond to potentially dangerous situations is much simpler than having to resort to Self Defense or submission when a crime actually occurs.

Victims the most important piece to the puzzle. Without a victim there is no crime. By removing yourself from the equation or at least substantially reducing your profile as a potential victim you will have the greatest impact on how crime will affect your life. This puts a lot of power and responsibility in your hands. Taking steps to reduce your desirability as a potential victim is not difficult. It does demand some education, effort and practice on your part though. You must educate yourself on what you don’t know. Contrary to popular belief, what you don’t know can hurt you. Take a course in Personal Safety and Self Defense. Learn how to develop and implement a Personal Safety Plan, then practice, practice, practice.

When we teach our courses, participants are always surprised to find out that when we talk about the “Adrenal Stress Response” that there is more to adrenaline than just “Fight of Flight”. This is not incorrect, just incomplete. During times of stress or danger the human body generally has 4 available options when adrenaline kicks in. These are; Fight, Flight, Posture, Submitt.

Each of these responses is common when a person is placed in a stressful or potentially dangerous situation. The fact is that everyone is affected by the “Adrenal Stress Response”. The difference is in how individuals deal with it. Each of us fits into one or more of these response types dependent upon a variety of environmental and personal factors. Adrenaline is an amazing hormone, it lets our bodies become supercharged and incredibly strong. Unfortunately it also has a dark side. Adrenaline also causes the “Freeze” response, dry mouth, rapid breathing, and extreme fatigue. Asymmetric Saturation Training is one method to reduce the effects of the “Adrenal Stress Response”. This is accomplished by systematically placing students in an Adrenal state during full contact Padded Attacker scenarios. Repeated exposure to the Adrenal Stress Response burns Self Defense techniques into the student’s neural pathways and teaches them how to survive a violent attack. This is the same method used by Peace Officers and the Military to train for the realities of combat.

Fight is always the first option listed when this sequence is discussed. It is however probably the least used in these situations. The human body is hardwired against harming others of our species. It is what allows us to live in large communities without random violence and murder. The ability to use violent and sometimes lethal force to protect ourselves from harm is easy to discuss and much harder to actually do. It is important to remember though that there is a portion of the populace that doesn’t share your feelings of kindness and lack of aggression towards your fellow man. In my business we call them “Wolves”. For the terms of our discussion “Wolf” refers to criminals and other predators.

Flight is the next most discussed option and in my opinion the least used or considered. It is also the most prudent and least likely to produce violent results. My philosophy has always been to run if you can and fight if you can’t. I’ve seen countless situations that have deteriorated into violence that you could have seen coming from a block away. Conversely I’ve also seen people stand back and posture when doing so was so obviously not going to go well for them.

Posturing is a very successful strategy for dealing with potential violence. Many species posture to make themselves look larger and more aggressive to potential adversaries. Often posturing works as the response cost for the criminal is just too high. It is too risky to take the chance that the individual posturing is just as tough and bad as they are trying to tell you they are. If you misjudge your career as a criminal will be brief and the resultant miscalculation painful.

Submitting is the fourth way that our bodies can react in a stressful or violent situation. In some cases submission has saved lives. Submission as a response to crime often has negative effects on it’s victims for years after the crime. It is important for survivors of violence to understand that no matter the circumstances that led to their attack the responsibility always lies with the perpetrator.

In my world there are three types of people; Wolves, Sheep and Sheepdogs. Wolves are predators and are not afraid to harm you. It is important to know that wolves don’t play by societies rules, so expecting them to behave as anything other than large, dangerous carnivores is foolhardy. The best way to deal with a wolf is never to run across his path in the first place. Learning practical Self Defense and Personal Safety skills will go a long way to keeping you off of a wolfs radar.

Sheep unfortunately represent the vast majority of society. I use this Tag because Sheep are prey. To the wolves of the world, sheep are there to be eaten. For you that means whatever personal motive that drives them to commit their crimes. Many times Sheep take the “It won’t happen to me, I live in a nice neighborhood” approach. Most times they are shocked when crime does happen in their neighborhood or affects them or someone they know in a very personal way.

Sheepdogs are the last category and that is what every one of us should aspire to be. Sheepdogs are not intimidated by Wolves and will actively protect the Sheep. Wolves don’t want to mess with a Sheepdog due to the high probability of severe risk and damage to them personally. We can become Sheepdogs by educating ourselves on the societal causes of crime and learning the skill sets necessary to protect ourselves and our families from the wolves at the door. And like a good Sheepdog we also need to learn the skills to deal with the Wolf when no other option presents itself.

A crime analyst is as important to the criminal justice field as the police officers who make the arrest. This profession is one of the most interesting and intriguing fields of study that is available. If you think you would be interested in becoming one, read on to find out just how exciting and fulfilling this position can be.

This analyzer of crimes performs many roles and duties. In this article, I will discuss those roles and duties. In no order of importance, they are:

1. The crime analyst is available for law enforcement to detect patterns in crimes so they can be linked with other crimes of the same pattern. This may tell law enforcement officers that this particular crime is being committed by the same person.
In addition to detecting patterns, they may be able to see a trend that will stop this offender from committing other crimes.

2. Crime analysts use another research tool in searching for known offenders when faced with crimes of a certain nature, such as child molesters. Every long term criminal has certain aspects that are attributed to the crimes he or she commits. This is called the modus operandi.

When a crime is committed using a certain modus operandi, the first person the analyst will look at is the criminal who uses this method. This will allow police officers to question this person as to their whereabouts when the crime they are investigating was committed.

3. The analyst also investigates and distributes information they may uncover about trends in crimes. This allows police officers to use their resources to come up with solutions to certain problems. When the analyst and the police officers work together, the apprehension of criminals is much more likely.

4. In addition to searching for criminals, the crime analyst will generate reports for the police agency on how well their system is working. How many man hours the department is using, an analysis of all the complaints communicated to police officers is analyzed and prepared as a report for the appropriate agency.

5. Generating reports on how the police activity will rise or fall with the future is another job that crime analysts perform. This enables law enforcement agencies to prepare for the future. If the prediction is that crime will rise, then the agency must look into hiring more police officers.

6. Community surveys on certain matters have to be analyzed and reports filed with the appropriate department. The police department on a whole depends on the analyst to detect and predict a host of information to help them do their job.

As you can see, the crime analyst performs a lot of roles and duties when it comes to crime prevention, apprehension, and implementation. The position is one of the most interesting in the criminal justice field. There are many more responsibilities that are undertaken by crime analyst. It is difficult for me to cover them all in this short article.
